The Beguines: Creative Religious Women in a Time of Ferment
Committed to a way of prayer, poetry and simple living - is this the "old-new" wisdom for today?
Elizabeth Dreyer, Ph.D.

Come and learn about the Beguines - female members of a medieval lay movement which broke new ground in experimenting with the elements of traditional religious life. These women were self-supporting and engaged in ministry to the sick and poor. Some wrote mystical treatises and poetry. In general, they were committed through temporary vows to a way of prayer and simple living.

Could this be the old-new wisdom for today?

Program includes lunch.
